Profile Summary
Grigoris was admitted to the Athens Bar Association in October 1996 and is entitled to attend cases before the Supreme Court (Areios Pagos). Since August 2017 Grigoris is a certified legal expert (CEPE L PS) at European Privacy Seal GmbH (located in Bonn/Germany) for the evaluation of IT products and IT-based services according to the new legal requirements that are introduced by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). He served as a substitute Member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (DPA) from March 2008 to August 2016.

Experience
Data Protection
Grigoris is -the first Greek- legal expert (CEPE L PS) at European Privacy Seal GmbH (EuroPriSe), the leading Certification Authority in Europe, which certifies compliance of IT products, IT-based services and websites with European regulations on privacy and data security (i.e. GDPR). During his term in the Greek Data Protection Authority, he supervised two of the four Departments of the DPA, and more specifically a) the Department which handles public administration, national defense and public order issues and b) the Department which handles new technology matters, such as biometric methods and identification technology, the operation of CCTV systems in public areas, profiling activities through automated systems. Furthermore, Grigoris participated in over 600 meetings of the Greek DPA with voting rights concerning a wide range of areas and he was the Rapporteur in more than 250 such cases.
Following the end of his term with the Greek DPA Grigoris and his team has provided and are providing GDPR compliance support and data protection advice to a number of Greek and international entities. (See “our experience” in the “GDPR HUB” section for a list of the relevant projects).
Administrative-Public law
Grigoris has extensive experience representing clients in claiming damages against the State, civil servants or public corporation employees, including disciplinary law and supporting private persons or legal entities before Greek courts as well as administrative authorities for violations of their rights by the Administration. He acts as legal counsel for higher education institutes (Universities), academic personnel and private schools.
Medical negligence cases
Grigoris has been involved in a number of complex medical negligence cases claiming damages both through civil and criminal litigation.
